Despite being down a small passageway and below street level the Bouzy Rouge has prospered for over twenty years. This is due to its many loyal and regular customers who over the years have become part of the restaurant's family.

It's all very well having a warm and friendly atmosphere with pleasant, helpful staff in a restaurant, but if the food is not up to standard then you will not succeed. The food at the Bouzy Rouge is not only up to standard, it surpasses it by far and this is due entirely to the two longstanding chefs Shaun (twenty year service), and young Dave (seventeen year service). This continuity in the kitchen guarantees the quality and consistency of the menu. However, they do not rest on their laurels, always striving for new and better ways of improving on old favourites or creating new dishes for the blackboard. Few, if any, restaurants can boast such long-serving key staff members and this must go a long way to explaining the high standards we have maintained for such a long period of time.

The wine list has developed over the years; consisting of well sourced, quality labels at very reasonable prices. Over eighty wines and a willingness to discuss what you prefer means we can find a drop for any palate, wallet or purse.

Although we have many regular customers there are still many in Southampton and beyond who are yet to try the Bouzy Rouge.
