Wine Tasting Evenings

In 2009 we will be hosting a variety of evenings based around fine wines. A light hearted occasion involving good food and drink. Speakers from the wine industry will be on hand to discuss, advise and provide the chance to purchase.

A choice of two main courses plus six wines to taste.
Everything on the menu plus sweets (£3.80) and coffee (£2.00) are also available.

Thurs 12th Feb - Old World Fights Back

The French, Spanish and Italians have finally realised that the popularity of New World wines needs to be addressed.

Here are six wines to be sampled, produced by modern, forward looking producers from the Continent, all of a modern taste and style.

Thurs 26th Feb - Know Your Grapes

For people who enjoy wines and want to know a little bit more.

Taste 3 whites - Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Ugni Blanc.
And 3 Reds - Merlot, Shiraz and pinot Noir.

We will discuss the characteristics or each grape type in a light hearted manner and have some fun!

Wed 11th March - Classic New World Wines

Wines from Australia, New Zealand, Chile, South Africa and USA. We will serve a classic from each country to taste and discuss.

Wed 25th March - A Sparkling Evening

Sparkling wines from around the world. There's more to bubbly than just Champagne.

Try six different wines produced with various techniques to make those bubbles.

Wines from France, Spain, Italy and Argentina.
